My motto?
Persevere through it all.
All About Me
Mock Trial
I have been on my high school Mock Trial team for four years! I have won “Best Advocate” titles in district competitions and I am a regional finalist in my division. Currently, I am the overall team captain of my school’s Mock Trial team.
School Clubs
I have been involved in the Environmental club (10th grade), AIC Council aka Student Government (10th grade), Students for RARE diseases (11th & 12th grade), Jewish Student Union (11th & 12th grade), and was vice president of Students For Choice— a club dedicated to abortion rights (9th, 10th, & 11th grade). I also was a student ambassador helping new students acclimate to their new school and make friends in ninth grade!
Cyber Charters
I am a major advocate for cyber charter funding, as someone who goes to one myself. Did you know that over 60,000 students attend cyber charters in Pennsylvania? That’s 60,000+ students who rely on cyber charter funding for their education. So, when that was threatened, I lobbied for cyber charter funding in Pennsylvania at the capitol building in Harrisburg. There, I met with several senators and representatives including Kristin Marcell from Bucks County.
Writing
I truly enjoy writing. I have written several published OP-Eds and a fifteen-page memoir during my high school career. I recently won the First Place Writing Award in the Narrative category, Senior Division, at my school for my memoir! One fun fact about me is that I wrote a short play that won the middle school age division in The Kennedy Center’s Access/VSA Discovery Young Playwrite competition.
Art
I have taken multiple drawing classes and consider myself a creative person. Not only this, but I took ballet classes consistently for eleven years! Art and music are a huge part of my personality and background. My favorite ballet is the tried and true Nutcracker.
Pets
I have a dog named Romeo! He is a purebred shetland sheepdog, age 5, and is my cuddle-buddy. I also have a dog named Alfie, whom I got recently. He is a rescue and under a year old!
In my junior year of high school, I began working at Game On State, a local arcade dedicated to accessibility for disabled customers and workers. At Game On State, my employers provide customized jobs and focus on what someone can do, rather than their limitations.
As an employee at Game On State, I have interacted with many people in my community from all different backgrounds. I host parties for young kids and their families, as well as work in customer service to provide support to our disabled customers.
